Crystal Waters “Dance Dance Dance” DJ Spen, Thommy Davis & Greg Lewis Remixes (IAH Records)
Hot on the heels of the first run of energetic remixes out of the UK by Azello and Limit3r come the first wave of additional bonus remixes from notable producers hailing from this side of the pond. This first single, namely “Dance Dance Dance” off Crystal Waters’ new album, which will be her first in over 25 years, and which has received critical acclaim, is being further complimented by the latest interpretations by DJ Spen and Thommy Davis, two of the original Basement Boys, who were responsible for producing “Gypsy Woman,” “!00% Pure Love” and other songs that launched Crystal’s career over 30 years ago. They now come to the dancefloor, enlisting the talents of co-producer and fellow Baltimorean DJ Greg Davis to assist in this magical remix. They balance out the energetic disco and progressive efforts of the UK producers with a softer, smoother, more classically elegant House rendition on their main extended remix, complete with sweeping strings and shuffling rhythms. They also offer a full-on slap-clapping, piano-jabbing gospel house version on the After Midnight Dub that’s sure to keep those hands and spirits sky high. Keep it locked for more coming soon!
